I’ve fielded grand battles between Skaven and Dwarves, between Dark Elves and Wood Elves, and organized a primeval showdown between Lizardmen and Beastmen – that final one is totally non-canonical to Warhammer, I do know, however one thing about this battle tapped into the five-year-old in me, smashing his plastic motion figures collectively. Thinking of stepping into Total War’s tackle Warhammer? Check out our review of Total War: Warhammer 2 that can assist you determine. I would be willing to wait for this map, but I have a feeling that they are going about it in some way I described because currently, the Warhammer 3 map does not fit at all with the other two.In the various hours I’ve spent with the Mortal Empires DLC this weekend, I feel I’ve attained a state of Total War nirvana a elegant wave of realisation that that is the grand technique sport that I’ve all the time needed, and that nothing else issues (nicely, apart from no matter Creative Assembly have subsequent in retailer for this sequence). Does GW and CA want to completely throw away money? if they didn't want to flesh out the east at all, why even add Cathey? besides the snakemen, most of the other nations are mostly retextured human ones. They could flesh out the chaos factions a lot and could create the cult of Ulric and sigmar which would be fucking awesome but that is just so much wasted potential. It is gonna be necessary for a lot of creative development anyway. Warhammer 2 only had two race packs, but they had a bunch of game 1 races and lord packs to leach off of. I also think it would condense the map more and not stretch it so vertically.Īfter the chaos dwarves, hobgoblins, do they have any other huge race packs to make? They could have so much creative freedom and make this game's life cycle so much longer. the other islands can just be Albion like (if they don't want to make a decision on them). Ether way, the only landmass they actually have to create is khuresh, put some placeholder faction in there. I also think people are being too pessimistic on Nippon and Ind, that is just such a missed opportunity and CA has already been given the green light to create factions out of thin air.Ĭathey was barely a faction before this. it would suck to not be able to fight the other chaos gods because the wastes are flattened on the top of the map.Įven if you do go with the empire style "theaters of war" I think this is the best way to go. I think it would be a travesty to not have the chaos wastes in some form in mortal empires connected. I don't understand why they don't just do a 2-D circular-style map with the chaos wastes at the center? the current Warhammer 3 map is designed for it anyways. A true globe style solution would be absolutly epic, though. Factions on maps (like southern lustria or araby) where you do not have a settlement or army could be calculated in a more resource effective manner, speeding up the end turn phase.Īt least that is my two cents on the immortal empires map.
#TOTAL WAR WARHAMMER 2 MORTAL EMPIRES MAP CUT PLUS#
I could see another plus for the Empire:Total War style solution in better load times: You dont have to wait for every move of every faction. With a zoomable globe style solution (think dyson sphere project) which will very likely not happen (sadly).Ī Empire:Total War style solution, where you had different rectangular maps connected to each other at certain points.Ī warped mercantor projection (or other "rectancular" projections, like cylindical equal area) would look weird on the scale i hope to see for immortal empires.Ī plus for the Empire:Total War style solution with smaller maps for every continent (Ulthuan, Naggarond, Araby, Empire and Southlands for example) would make for less "crunched" and warped maps to give the player a better sense of the Warhammer scale. I really, really hope they are going either:
